Now that summer has arrived the general mood of the nation seems to have improved, even despite England’s early exit from the World Cup. Alongside that, business confidence remains high – the ICAEW/Grant Thorton business confidence monitor shows “confidence is stabilising at a high level after rising for six consecutive quarters”. Many businesses are looking to invest and grow whilst entrepreneurs are seizing the opportunity to start a new business.
Our own observations are that confidence is returning to small businesses judging by the number of attendees at the recent NACFB Expo and the level of inquiries we’ve received in recent months; our own lending levels have passed those for the entirety of 2012 already and are on target for another record-breaking year showing that there is an appetite among businesses to invest in new plant, machinery, vehicles and equipment and from independent funders such as Genesis to help those businesses succeed.
We’ve recently provided facilities for:
- a new high-end coffee machine for a new start American-style diner
- the refinance of several executive chauffeur cars along with adding a new vehicle to the fleet
- the refinance of several large forestry machines
- the purchase of a new van for a small contract-hire company
- funding for a Management-Buy-In secured against a collection of used industrial machinery
to name but a few!
